Naavi was started in 2014 by motivated individuals who have been working in the developmental sector for many years. Projects are undertaken by teams with experience in the respective fields

Board of Directors:

1. Aarti Shrestha

She has more than 20 years of experience in development projects across organisations. She has been associated with GIANTS International Charitable Trust, a leading NGO which has been involved with the development sector since 1972. G I A N T S is an acronym and stands for Generosity, Integrity, Action, Nobility, Truthfulness and Service. GIANTS movement provides its members an ideology base and organisation platform to enable citizens to play their role for community welfare. 2. Ranjan Kumar

He has been working in the field of flood management and children education for more than 5 years. He is based in border town of Birpur, Supaul district which is on the Kosi river. He has been actively involved in flood relief and restoration work since the 2008 Bihar flood when he lost many relatives. It was one of the most disastrous floods in the history of India when the Kosi embankment near the Indo-Nepal border, broke and the flood waters affected over 2.3 million people in Bihar – thousands died and millions were homeless. He is an engineer by education but left his job in the IT industry to go back and work in his home town. He has led many teams to rebuild the broken river embankments, flood shelters and flood preparedness training. In 2014, he co-founded Naavi Welfare Foundation to give a formal shape to his efforts and more people are involved to find a long term solution to the floods.
He has also been associated with award winning social enterprise Saran Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd. and has helped in setting up village electrification projects.

He has more than 8 years of hands on experience in off-grid rural electrification.

He has more than 15 years experience in advanced horticulture and plantation management.

He is a social entrepreneur and has been identified by Outlook Business magazine as one of the 50 Social Entrepreneurs of India. He has successfully established businesses with high social impact : into Renewable Energy and Agro Processing. He believes in a profit oriented approach to social activities.
